Spaghetti a la Bolognese
by Dana Peredo

Ingredients
- 400 gr Spaghetti
- 300 g ground meat
- 1 carrot
- 1 onion
- 100 ml white wine
- 200 gr Tomato sauce
- 50 ml milk
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 3 basil leaves (optional garnish)
- Olive oil
- 2 teaspoons of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 Olla
Steps
- 1. Chop the vegetables3 min
First, let's peel the carrot with a peeler and the onion, and then chop them, making sure they're very finely chopped.
- 2. Cook the sauce over medium heat13 min
In a pot over medium heat, add a little oil. Wait until the oil is hot, then add the chopped carrots and onions. Sprinkle a little salt over them, then let them cook for about 10 minutes, making sure the vegetables are tender and only lightly browned. If they start to burn, you can lower the heat or add a little water.
- 3. Mix with the other ingredients3 min
Once the vegetables are ready, add the ground meat. Use a spatula to mix everything together carefully, then add salt, black pepper, and oregano—you can also adjust these to taste.
- 4. Add white wine3 min
Once the meat is cooked, turn the heat to high, add the white wine, and let it evaporate for 2 to 3 minutes.
- 5. Add the tomato sauce and milk23 min
Reduce the heat to low, add the tomato sauce and milk, and let it simmer for 20 minutes, allowing the flavors to blend. When it’s ready, taste it to make sure all the ingredients come through, or feel free to add more to your liking.
- 6. Prepare the pot for the pasta13 min
While you wait for the sauce to cook—or afterward—fill the pot where you’ll cook the pasta about halfway with water and bring it to a boil over high heat.
- 7. Cook the spaghetti10 min
Once the water is boiling, add a teaspoon of salt, then add the spaghetti, and let it cook over medium-high heat. Stir gently so the spaghetti doesn’t break and to prevent it from sticking together.
- 8. Drain the spaghetti5 min
When they're ready, we'll pour them into a colander that the spaghetti won't fall through, and place it in the sink to let the water drain.
- 9. Add the spaghetti3 min
Now let's add the spaghetti to the Bolognese sauce with the heat turned off, and mix everything together thoroughly and carefully.
