Recipe Standards
What We Look For
A good recipe on Waatokok has clear ingredients and instructions someone could actually follow. We ask contributors to share recipes that genuinely work in their own kitchen — not just a list of ingredients or a vague idea.
Share What's Yours
Contributors should submit recipes, photos, and other content they created themselves or have permission to publish. Copied, plagiarized, or misappropriated content isn't welcome here.
Photos Should Represent the Dish
Uploaded photos and linked videos should show the actual recipe or food being described — not unrelated, misleading, or stock imagery.
How We Review Recipes
Before a submission from the community appears publicly, a moderator reviews it. A recipe may be rejected or need changes if, for example, the ingredients or instructions are missing or unclear, a linked photo or video doesn't match the recipe, the submission looks like spam or a duplicate of an existing recipe, or it doesn't appear to be a real recipe. Contributors are notified when a recipe needs changes so they can fix it and resubmit.
Recipes submitted or edited directly by our own moderator team are treated as already reviewed and go live right away.
Ratings and Comments Are Community Opinions
Star ratings and comments reflect the personal opinions and experiences of the users who posted them — not an editorial endorsement or verification by Waatokok.
About the Details We Show
Information like servings, prep/cook time, category, cuisine, or difficulty is entered by the contributor — or, for some recipes, by our own editorial team — to help you decide what to cook. It isn't professionally tested, medically reviewed, or independently fact-checked, so treat it as a helpful estimate rather than a guarantee.
Recipes Can Improve Over Time
A recipe may be edited or corrected after it's published, by its original contributor or, when needed, by a moderator — for example to fix a broken link or an accuracy issue — so it stays useful and accurate.
